"Where to Turn When Your Child Marches to the Beat of a Different Drum."
(presented by Linda Marshall, Granby Special Resources Coordinator, Kearns Primary School, Ingrid Helander, Granby Youth Services Bureau and a panel of parents.)

While most children achieve predictable milestones as they grow, many parents struggle when something may not be "quite right" with their own child's development. Perhaps it's a clearly identifiable problem or perhaps it's just a parent's gut feeling that eludes a label or diagnosis. It can be an isolating feeling as you try to determine what's typical and what's not. Learn about the resources available to your child and your family. Also hear from parents who have become advocates hoping others can learn from their experiences - from raising a child with an early diagnosis, a child whose needs weren't accurately diagnosed for many years, and a child whose behaviors are triggered by an autoimmune disorder. The goal of this workshop is to make it clear that you are not alone on this often unpredictable journey called parenthood.
