A Community Event November 12, 2010 6:00-8:00 pm GMHS Auditorium CONGRATS TINA SHAW FOR WINNING THE We want to thank our adult and student contestants, as well as the businesses in town who showed their support in their sponsorships and donations. Congratulations to the winners, Tina Shaw from Tina's Ice Cream and Alexis King from Wells Road School, Tina's student contestant. The GECC raised $2000.00 for the Granby Preschool Scholarship Fund administered by the Youth Services department. The GECC would like to encourage any family that is struggling with the cost of preschool for their child to contact AnneMarie Cox at (860)844-5355. To Showcase Granby Schools, Students, and Families From The Granby Early Childhood Council (GECC) is excited to announce the second annual "Are You Smarter Than a Granby Student?" event on Friday, November 12, 2010. Play is based on the show "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader" and contestants will test their knowledge of the Granby curriculum in categories such as Second Grade Math, Kindergarten Science, and Fifth Grade Social Studies. The event will be a fund raiser for the Granby Preschool Scholarship Fund, as well as a way to raise exposure in town and offer an exciting family event. This exciting school/community/family event will be held at Granby Memorial High School, and prominent community members will be participating.
